Courtney Down the Aisle: T-107

/ Friday, May 4, 2012 /

As I mentioned earlier this week, I’m in the midst of designing the CK Wedding line (and planning a wedding!).  Which isn’t so bad—it’s just a lot of (pin)spiration spewing everywhere! So for the next few Fridays, I hope to treat this space as my own little field journal we've deemed "Courtney Down the Aisle," summarizing what’s happened that week on both the wedding and design front.

With that said, we give you our first post—a sneak peek. I’ve been hard at work designing more statement pieces.  For the most part, the bridal line is close to being finished.  But once I started trying on dresses, the idea behind statement pieces really came into play, seeing as how a lot of the dresses I tried on had bare necks.  That got me thinking, "A delicate piece with a lot of neck space isn’t quite my style. But I haven’t come across great pieces that make a statement without overpowering the entire look." So this week, we’ve been focusing on formulating a concept that’s feminine but bold, making sure it complimented the dress without taking away from it. Luckily, yesterday, I was hit with a surge of inspiration that I look forward to sharing with you guys next week.  For visual’s sake, here’s a peek at what’s been going on behind the veil!
