DIY: Gold Dipped Bowls

/ Friday, February 3, 2012 /

Metallics have been all the rage, so why not introduce them into our classy mode of crafting? In our honest opinion, mini bowls are the easiest way to organize our beloved baubles. All you have to do is grab a couple from the cupboard, lay them out, and there you go! Mini homes for your treasures.

  1. Grab a small, white plastic bowl from the cupboard (TIP: If you’re a fan of texture, use a glass, porcelain or clay bowl; if it’s not white, simply prep it with white spray paint).
  2. Brainstorm; try to visualize where you want your “dipped” effect.
  3. Once you’ve come up with your design, cover the parts you want untouched with tape/newspaper.
  4. From a good foot or two, spray the bowl with an even coat of gold paint. Let it dry for a day, just to be safe.

And finito! Now you’ve got a trendy set of jewelry bowls to play with! Gorgeous right?
